Longtime Spirit Volunteer Nina Vono, "The Tea Lady", passed away early on Monday, December 28th from complications of Alzheimer's disease.

Nina's daughters Mary Beth and Francie Ann Vono marched with Spirit, but Nina's involvement with the corps went far above and beyond the normal call of duty to the organization. She toured with Spirit for nine years, working with the food crew and anywhere else that help was needed. After a long day on the practice field you could always count on Nina to be there with her famous iced tea and a word of encouragement when things got tough.

Services will be held this Saturday in Haleyville, AL, beginning with a viewing at 11 AM following by a funeral mass at 1 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend. Please contact Mary Beth Vono on Facebook for more information if you are interested.
