It goes without saying that having more hands available helps lessen the burden and makes everyone’s job that much easier. There are many opportunities year-round for individuals, families, and friends to get involved in that help Spirit of Atlanta. The following are of some of the areas where we can use your help, and how you may fit in. Remember, this experience is for everyone (not just the members) and here is your chance to be a part of this very special family.
- Cooking
- Sewing & Uniforms
- Transportation - Bus, Truck & Light Vehicle Drivers
- Construction/repairs
- Event Staff
- Fleet Maintenance
- Communications (Journalism, Photography, Media)
- Health/Medical (Nurse, Physical Trainer)
We have a separate area for parents and volunteers to sleep, so bring along your sleeping bag and stay the whole weekend. If you aren't into sleeping on the floor there are several hotels in the area to choose from.
On Sunday afternoons at camps we usually have “Show and Tell” to show off the weekend's progress. At the December camps, we will hold a formal parent/volunteer meeting on Friday night (times will be posted on the white board at registration). We encourage you to attend! If you can not make that meeting, we will also have designated people available on Friday nights of our weekend camps to provide you with information and answer any questions you may have.
