Cory Lopez

Cory Lopez currently resides in Stillwater, Oklahoma where he is finishing up his Bachelors degree in Psychology from Oklahoma State University. Following graduation he will pursue his Masters and Ph.D in child and adolescent Psychology. He currently works as a researcher in the Psychology department at Oklahoma State.

Cory has an accumulated 7 years in the marching percussion activity with groups including the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps 2009, 2010, and the Boston Crusaders in the 2011 season. In 2009 he was awarded visual rookie of year. Cory is excited to continue his drum corps career with Spirit of Atlanta as a tenor tech for the 2012 season. Over the past three years, Cory has taught privately and with high school groups in the Northern Oklahoma area including Enid High School in Enid, Oklahoma and Jenks High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Obtaining an educational background in psychology, Cory focuses on a teaching philosophy that embodies a psychological approach. In the past four years, he has been focusing on educational psychology research that has identified several key factors to improve teaching and enhance student learning. He looks forward to applying these various aspects of instruction to the Spirit of Atlanta percussion organization. Cory is thankful and excited to have the opportunity to work under such advanced educators in the upcoming season.
