Chris Williams
Visual Consultant
Chris Williams has over 15 years experience in the Drum Corps activity. He began as a member in 1994 with the Santa Clara Vanguard in the mellophone line. After aging out, he taught on visual staff for the A corps from 1995-1999, many times leading the visual ensemble. From 2002-2008, Chris moved on to help teach the Vanguard Cadet corps in every capacity including visual caption head for their 2008 DCI Open Class Champion season. Williams graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from CSU-Fresno, and was a Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Scholar. He has been on the band staff for CSU Fresno since 1997 and has served as their drill writer since 1999. Chris writes for many high school bands across the nation, who have won numerous sweepstakes and championships including the Maryland state championship. Williams is an English teacher and Assistant Band Director for Washington Union High School in California. This will be his second year on staff at Spirit of Atlanta.
