Dr. Scott Boerma
Brass Arranger
Dr. Scott Boerma is currently in his fifth year as Brass Arranger for Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps. Dr. Boerma's arranging and composing credits read like a who's who of the marching and concert world. Dr. Boerma earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in conducting at Michigan State University, his Master of Music Education degree at the University of Michigan, where he also studied composition with William Bolcom, and his Bachelor of Music Education degree at Western Michigan University. As current Associate Director of Bands, Director of the Michigan Marching Band, Donald R. Shepherd Associate Professor of Conducting, and activities as a clinician and composer, he remains active in almost all avenues of music creation, producing, and performance.
